The main tourist attraction in Granada is the Alhambra and this was our destination today. The Alhambra is an area of outstanding Islamic art and architecture. The palace, patios and gardens are surrounded by its fortress set on a hill with spectacular views of the city below and the snowy peak Sierra Nevada mountains afar. Spain is all about the mosaic tiles and once again the craftsmanship was outstanding here. Our trip here took most of the day since we had to stand in line for 1.5 hours just to get tickets. This really surprised us for this time of year. There must still be leftover travelers from the holidays. We really don't think there's a low season to travel in Western Europe. It's either high or super high season.
