Banska Stiavncia to Terchova

3 buses

October 6, 2005

After 3 different buses we made it to Terchova where we found a nice pension from a couple who spoke absolutely no English. We're getting pretty good at using the calculator, hand gestures, and grunts for negotiating the prices for our rooms. Tina decided to go on a run while I decided to just walk around the small town and take a few photos. I didn't get very far. I did end up at the statue of Juraj Janosik who is Slovakia's famous hero. He is the most famous of the many Robin Hood type figures who form an integral part of the songs and folklore of the Slovak mountain region. Here are a few photos from my little journey.
